In December 2019, Developer secured a $332.5 million green loan to help finance the acquisition of the Andaz hotel.
This is the first green loan for South-east Asia’s hospitality industry. The five-star Andaz Singapore was awarded the BCA Green Mark (Hotel) Goldplus Award in 2013 for its environmentally friendly attributes that help reduce energy and water consumption. With the urgent call to conserve the environment, the Monetary Authority of Singapore has also established grant schemes to support the growth of green and sustainability-linked loans to encourage developers to adopt sustainable development strategies that will deliver both positive returns for the company and the environment.

Besides commercial properties, Developer is also expanding its business into the hospitality sector. Their first foray into the hospitality business was the development of Royal Square at Novena which housed the first Courtyard by Marriott Singapore. In October 2019, Hoi Hup Realty acquired Andaz Singapore which is a luxury lifestyle hotel operated by Hyatt International. Launched in Jan 2018, Andaz is strategically located in the midtown of Singapore amongst the transformation zone of the Beach Road/Ophir-Rochor Corridor. The 342-room hotel occupies the highest floors of the iconic DUO Tower from level 24 to level 39 and it features renowned F&B outlets and a wide range of meetings and banqueting facilities.

Ki Residences Developer, Sunway Development, is a subsidiary wholly-owned by Sunway Holdings in Malaysia. The property arm of Sunway ventured into Singapore since 2007 and has been making headways on many fronts. In a press conference in January 2020, Sunway disclosed that the company would be launching properties worth almost RM 3.5 billion in gross development value in 2020 and 70% of that would be in Singapore. Despite being a Malaysia-based company, its growth strategy has largely focused on its property development business in Singapore.

In May 2019, Developer Sunway, launched its medical division, Sunway Medical Centre Singapore, occupying the entire floor of medical suites in Royal Square at Novena with a total floor area of 8,500 square feet. The center offers outpatient consultation, executive health screening services, employment health medical examinations and travel health services.
